User Prompts
User prompts can be given to TC Individual mobile app users when they clock in or clock out. These prompts can be in the form of messages or questions and are configurable on the Configure User Prompts screen.
To open this screen, click Setup in the Administration section of the side menu, then click User Prompts.
Creating a user prompt

Click Add Reminder below the User Prompts grid. A new row will be added at the bottom of the grid.

You must fill in the details of the user prompt in the new row using in-line editing. Your changes will be automatically saved as you go. Complete the fields as follows:

Optional: The user does not have to enter a note.

Always Required: The user must always enter a note, or they will be prevented from clocking in/out.

Required if Unexpected Response: The user must enter a note if they provided an unexpected response to the question, or they will be prevented from clocking in/out.
Name |
Enter a name for the prompt. |
Title |
Enter the title of the prompt which will be shown when it appears on the user’s screen. |
Text |
Enter the text that will be shown in the prompt when it appears on the user’s screen. |
Application |
Select which application the prompt is for. |
Prompt |
Select whether this prompt will be shown when clocking in or clocking out or select All to show it for both. |
Is Question |
Tick this box if this prompt is asking a question. |
Expected Response |
If this prompt is a question, select whether the expected response is “Yes” or “No”. |
Enforce Validation |
If this prompt is a question, select whether to enforce validation for this prompt. If you select “Yes” to enforce validation, the user will be prevented from clocking in/out if they do not provide the expected response. |
Display User Note Box |
Tick this box to include a text box inside the prompt, where the user can enter their own text. |
Note Validation |
If this prompt has a user note box, select which type of validation to apply to the note box: |
Enabled |
Tick this box to enable the prompt. If this box is left unticked, it will not be shown to users. |
Timesheet Groups |
Select which timesheet groups will be shown this prompt. |
Editing a user prompt
User prompts can be edited using in-line editing at any time up until they are first sent out to mobile users, at which point every field except “Enabled” becomes locked and can no longer be changed. If you wish to edit a prompt which has already been sent, you must disable it by unticking “Enabled” and create a new prompt with the updated details.
Deleting a user prompt
User prompts can be deleted at any time up until they are first sent out to mobile users. They can still be disabled at any time by unticking the “Enabled” checkbox, which will prevent them from being sent out from that point onwards.

To delete a user prompt, click the trash can icon
in the Actions column. You will receive a warning popup asking if you are sure.
